Michael Bissett-Powell
- gasworks opened in 1870 and was also called the Brighton & Hove Gasworks. It occupied the site now used by the Shoreham Power Station. Unknown when the gasworks closed but it lasted until after WW2 and was then demolished.

Fire station not marked on available maps August 2012, but plotted on area of gasworks
